Welcome to the website for the Thoroughbred Sportscars Championship. On this site you will find records for all recent events, news and upcoming race events and links to other sites.

About the Championship

The MGCC Thoroughbred Sportscar Championship started life as the MGA Register Championship back in early 1976. In those days the Championship filled the grid with MGAs and some really competitive close racing was enjoyed. During the 80s it became more difficult to maintain the grids and it was decided to invite other British sportscars of the 50s and 60s to join us, we have now in 2009 included some sportscars of the 70s to join us. The format was set for the great inter-marque racing you see today. In the first year of the new format we linked with the Aston Martins and saw the beginning of many years of spectacular grids and races.

We know from the many comments, that spectators love the format, which has now developed into a blend of MGs, Astons, TVRs, Healeys, D Type Replicas, some Lotus Elans, Morgans and TRs to name but a few. We now believe that we are set for what will be another great season of exciting racing and are pleased to let you know that after a short break we have renewed the link with AMOC Racing and hope to have a round with them in September.

In 2009 our Championship can be seen at four of the MGCC meetings, Donington, Oulton Park International, Silverstone International and Snetterton. We also have rounds at the Thruxton AMOC meeting, the Castle Combe CCRC meeting, the BARC meeting at Thruxton and the Bentley Drivers Club 60th Anniversary Silverstone International meeting. A great Calendar for 2009.

Those of us who have raced against other Marques in the MGCC Thoroughbred Sportscar Championship know that it is competitive and exciting and we would welcome any new like-minded racing drivers to join us. Check out the Regulations and complete the Registration form and come out and join us this Season.
